Marion Hospes Allen, the quiet one, who went on into nursing has passed away.
Several classmates attended nursing training with her. One of which is June
Vargo Rummel.
MARION ALLEN
Marion C. Hospes Allen, 70, of 96
Country Club Drive, Shallotte, formerly
of Mahwah, N.J., died Jan. 21 at the
home of her son in Tewksbury, Mass.,
after an illness.
Born July 3, 1935, in Elizabeth, N.J.,
she was a daughter of Hans and Hilde W.
Hospes.
She was the widow of William E. Allen.
She worked as a Registered Nurse in a
New Jersey hospital and most recently in
physicians' offices.
She was a volunteer at the public
library and also served as a record
keeper for the local fire department.
She was a member of the Shallotte
Appearance Committee. She was a member
of Camp United Methodist Church in
Shallotte and a former member of the
United Methodist Church, Allendale, N.J.
A memorial service was scheduled Feb. 4,
at 11 a.m., at Camp United Methodist
Church, 4807 Main St., Shallotte.
Memorial contributions may be made to
the Zimmer Cancer Center, New Hanover
Regional Medical
Center, 2131 S. 17th St., Wilmington,
N.C., and to Merrimack Valley Hospice
Program, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence,
Mass. 01843.
