HAROLD DECKER, AGE 70, AVENEL
Published in the Home News Tribune 9/26/03Harold Decker, 70, of the Avenel section of Woodbridge died yesterday, Sept. 25, 2003, at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Avenel for the past 38 years. Mr. Decker was employed as a printer with L&N Printing in Linden for 47 years until 1997. He then was employed as a school bus driver with Howard Bus Co. and for the Woodbridge Township Board of Education for the past five years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Woodbridge Senior Citizens and the Woodbridge Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons. Mr. Decker was very active with various youth organizations, including Woodbridge Little League and the Avenel Bowling League. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles F. and Gladys Eastman Decker, and a son, Kenneth Nichols. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Rose Barry Decker; two daughters, Dawn Loxton of North Carolina and Vikki Faller of Pennsylvania; four sons, Harold Decker of Avenel, Michael Nichols of Far Hills, Mark Nichols of Whitehouse Station and Kevin Nichols of Randolph; 18 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. The funeral will be held at 10:30
a.m. Monday at Costello-Koyen Funeral
Home, 399 Avenel St. in Avenel. Burial
will be at Rosedale Cemetery in Linden.
Visiting will be from 7 p.m.-9 p.m.
Saturday and 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9
p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. |
